Maybe try installing that Rom along with the Kernal and then trying it again. HOW to change the kernel, tough, is gltool my knowledge and I'd really like someone to explain.
So I restored it. My device is Nexus 7 [] i fixed the issue by installing Paranoid android rom, and Paranoid android Gapps.
